Run completely by volunteers, KTC Jacksonville depends entirely upon Membership dues and donations from the local community to pay expenses. Sponsoring and making monetary donations to a Dharma center is a powerful way of benefiting all sentient beings because you are supporting the practice of compassion and wisdom. Not only is the merit gained from your donations measureless and priceless, but your financial support and involvement increases our ability to offer programs, participate in outreach events, offer retreats, and provide teachings from visiting Lamas. For 30 years, KarmaThegsum Chöling Jacksonville (KTC Jax) has welcomed all those interested in studying the teachings of the Buddha and the practices of authentic Tibetan meditation. We offer North Florida a space to study and practice pure and unbroken tradition of compassion, loving kindness, and wisdom as taught by the Karma Kagyu Lineage of Tibetan Buddhism, which trace directly back to Shakyamuni Buddha

The activities of KTC Jacksonville include hosting local, national, and international teachers of Tibetan Buddhism. We are also active in the Jacksonville community. We frequently teach at are colleges and universities about Tibetan Buddhism and meditation practice, and are happy to provide such teachings to groups and institutions whenever requested. We participate in Jacksonville’s One Jax Interfaith Council. We also work with other Buddhist centers of different traditions with whom w frequently sponsor joint programs or special events In our own efforts to practice kindness and generosity, KTC Jax holds quarterly fundraisers to support a variety of Jacksonville 501(c)3 charities, such as the Jacksonville Food Bank, the Humane Society and Jasmyn, to cite just a few.

KTC Jax is affiliated with Karma Triyan Dharmachakra Monastery (KTD) in Woodstock, NY, the seat of His Holiness the Gyalwang Karmapa in North America. Our  spiritual director Lama Losang helps guide the center under the auspices of the Abbott of KTD, Khenpo Karthar Rinpoche; Khenpo Rinpoche is a highly accomplished teacher who is known and revered across the globe.  KTD website can be found a kagyu.org. KTC Jax has sister KTCs in Gainesville and Tampa, and a study group in Yulee, Florida.

All Financial contributions to Karma Thegsum Chöling Jacksonville are tax deductible to the extent of the law for a 501(c)3 non pro t organization.

To receive benefits, members must stay current with membership dues. National Membership is required for eligibility as a KTC Jax Board Member with the exception of Lamas & Monastics.

No one is ever turned away from a Special Event, Retreat, or Teaching for lack of funds. However, a work exchange donation may be requested in lieu of inability to
meet suggested donation fees. Suggested donations and registration fees help KTC Jax cover the costs associated with hosting Lamas and other events. KTC Jax functions primarily through Memberships and donations. We receive no funding through corporate entities.

  Sustaining Members receive one free teaching program per year at KTC Jax

  $100 per month ($1200 yearly)
  Benefactor Members receive two free teachings per year at KTC Jax.
• National Membership:
  For those interested in becoming members of Karma Triyana Dharmachakra, our parent organization, in addition to KTC Jax.
